"Dispute this fact: NO ONE has more jams than Flyte Tyme"
(Even though they only got one Jam...)
But after that incredibly extensive Flyte Tyme playlist was shared in the other «Quintessential albums» post, I’ve been bumping Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis-produced & written songs for months, and the list honestly never ends. There are like hundreds of songs on there, and almost everything is a bop. Nevermind that they ripped off Dilla (or was it Q-tip), no other writer(s) or producer(s) come to mind that can see these guys’ catalogue. Its stunning.
The Time, Janet, Luther, S.O.S. Band, Cherelle, not to mention one of my all time favorite songs «If You Were Here Tonight» by the immaculate Alexander O Neal... Damn. «Making Love in the Rain» by Herb Alpert? Sheeeeeit. «My Dear» by Sounds of Blackness was one of the new finds on this list that speaks to me. «Moist» by Janet is hillarious btw, never bumped the Damita Jo album so I’ve never caught that before. «Empty» has always been a personal fav tho.
But honestly, name a more Productive/successful, incredible, iconic duo??? (like they used to say)
