i remember the kids at school thought i was rich. of course i didn't, largely because my folks just wouldnt (not couldnt) by me everything i wanted. childhood mindset

as an adult i def had that epiphany of "ohhhh i actually just had 2 parents that both had jobs"

for the real old folks, its like you said. where I grew up at a lot of black folks worked for RJ Reynolds or Wake Forest and made good livings at the time, and good pensions long after. nice cars. nice clothes. nice houses.
