"They got Common out here eating butt in "All About Nina" on Netflix"
Times are hard because I decided to check out All About Nina on Netflix because Common is on the poster and the netflix trailer features Common's first scene in the movie. Not that I am a fan of Common the Actor, but I was intrigued to see more of that scene and how this relationship played out.
Me and all the Rotten Tomato reviewers who gave the film an 86% approval must have been watching two different movies because I hated the movie so much. I just really really didn't find the lead character, Nina, to be that funny (which is a problem for a Comedy about a comedian) and worst of all, I did not like her as a person. I really may have blancofemophobia because I just found her to be toxic, self-absorbed and not that sympathetic (until of course they dropped the bombshell late that forced you to be sympathetic to her).
Anyway all that would be fine for another type of movie (one I'd probably not watch off rip) but they cast Common as the romantic lead and the whole time I am watching I am just wanting dude to get as far away from her as possible. I kept wonder why Common's character would want to deal with such a trainwreck.
Anyway, this is the second movie I've seen with Common playing a love interest to a white woman with problems (the Tale 2018) and it's a shame to see a brother who appears to have his ish together looking goofy like this:
Soon after that they have a scene with Common eating the butt from behind and I can't help but think Ava Duverny wouldn't have done Common that way. These white women directors got Common out here looking crazy.
Anyway, I need some more people to spite watch this movie so I will have some other people to trash it with.
