Tonight, March 28th, Questo was back doing his DJ thing on all platforms "Questlove Presents Steveland Saturday. We were serenaded by all tings Stevie Wonder and all... but I didn't pop in until about 11:30 pm. I was instantly jolted into the PERFECT moment, because he was segueing from Stevie's "I Am Singing" to, what he introduced, a song by The Randy Watson Experience (himself and James Poyser)'s side group. As 15 said, the group was inspired to cover songs that the group Yesterdays New Quintet (Madlib?) had covered from some of Stevie's songs. I looked allum up immediately because the song he was playing grabbed me and wouldn't let go. I went into the rabbit hole trying to find the name of this song, to actually seeing if it existed on the web, to realizing that a majority of the RWE songs that do exist DON'T exist on the web anymore. There are maybe 3 - 4 available for purchase (which I copped) but I really wanted that song, lol.
I also found out that the song I thought was just Quest's was actually a RWE song - "Goodbye Isaac". I've had that for a few years now and it wasn't properly tagged by the blog when I first discovered it.
So boom, I'm still digging to see if I can find any more music, but I kept hitting a brick wall. I did find this one site with a long list of song names that seem like they def could be from these guys, but of course, there's no audio that exists to listen to.
With all that being said, do any of you have music or snippets from The Randy Watson Experience?
