these other schools with major athletic programs have like 40-50k plus massive donor networks of alumni and parents.

you cant just expect athletes to come and *then* possibly change the infrastructure gap. that infrastructure gap is the reason athletes are going to the bigger schools in the 1st place.

not tryna be funny here but...have you (not you personally) ever been to an hbcu and to a big division 1 school? lol.

some of these big schools power entire local economies. like the entire commercial/residential development and influx of major retailers in the happy valley/centre county region happened because of penn state. the colleges are legit cities in themselves.

the order of magnitude is *completely* different.
