I just found out about this fantastic podcast called Slow Burn. Season 1 was Watergate -- unlike all of you, I was in high school at the time, so I have some recollection of it, and so I binged S1 in one day and was rapt.
S2 is the Clinton impeachment. I was in my 30s when it happened and even so, I've already learned or been reminded of things that are way weirder than I remember.
I feel like I'm only starting to understand why my father watched those WWII documentary series with such obsessive interest. WWII ended 15 years before I was born and it seemed like ancient history to me. So you could be 30 or so and think of Watergate like I think of the McCarthy era.
But Clinton. You remember him, right?
I mean, he was still president when I joined the boards.
The Starr investigation went on for more than three years and was supposed to investigate Whitewater which was a made up issue. Remember that the next time Trump talks about a witch hunt.
Anyway, the podcast is great and I recommend it.
