The debacle of "a union" between Sam Rothsteine and Ginger still fuck with me til this day every time I watch that movie. The level of high functioning sucka-ish so masterfully illustrated/ portrayed by Scorsese/ Dinero is unparalleled.
You actually felt the desperation in Sam's attempts to change Ginger into something she could've never been.
