One of my dad's frat buddies kept trying to see him in Philly, Jersey and NYC and eventually gave up. Several times he waited in long lines for tickets and when he got close to the window, a group of people would beat his ass and kick him out of line. I thought of him when I went for sure.
In his youth and middle age the guy just had incredible energy. He could dance, he could wail and he could take a riff on a loooooong ride. Loved the JBs, too. Huge piece of American music right there, his legacy will live on way longer than any of us.
