You pay the $10K partially because you're helping the organization, but also because it gets you access to the other mentors in the org that happen to be some baller ass movers and shakers in the city.

So yeah, it's $10K, but then you get to be on a first name basis with the dude from Ariel Capital and the head of HR & Talent for Huron Group. You mentor the kids, then turn around have lunch with the Kenny Williams from the White Sox.
