"My mom's dad not on her birth cert. Can't get passport w/out dad's info"
Soooooo I feel so bad for my mom right now.
She was born in 63 and the only birth certificate she found in her possession was a copy. But get this.
ONLY HER NAME IS ON IT.
My grandma's name ain't on it. (why? we have no friggin idea) My mom's daddy's name ain't on it (he was a deadbeat and my mom didn't know her father).
The other problem is... we're trying to get a passport. Ppl in charge of this stuff are saying that they need (DNA) proof that my grandfather is my mom's father. That's impossible because he passed like 25 years ago, and no one in my family knows or is in contact with anyone that could possibly be related to him.
My mom is furious at my grandma because... how did she not have her baby daddy sign the birth certificate?? I mean... this was in the early 60s and my grandma was 17 when she had my mom (who was her 2ND child by baby daddy grandpa). And we're sure my uncle doesn't have a proper birth cert either (he's locked up).
What the heck can we do?
What do people who legitimately do not "have fathers" do when they need a passport? Like how do children of rape victims travel out of the country?
