"Y'all been to events/parties/gathering with Social Media policies?" Tue Mar-01-16 11:49 AM by Buddy_Gilapagos
I went to a babyshowering and a wedding recently where the couple throwing the party had a posted social media policy telling people it was cool to take pictures but please don't post anything to social media.
My initial reaction was "da hell" but then it made a lot of sense. Because they were both small gatherings they couldn't invite everyone they wanted to and didn't want people to feel left out from seeing pictures on social media.
It reminded because I went on a trip with a group of friends and one from the group posted a lot of picks and then you got to read comments like "Dang how come i wasn't invited."
Heck I saw an outing by a group of friends recently and had the same question.
Seems like social media policies (written or just agreed upon) for events (and even hanging out) will be more of a thing in the future. I bet that NAACP President wished there was a social media policy posted at that strip club she went to.
How you feel about some one telling you what you can and can not post to your facebook feed?
