he knows he's suspect with the base, he's too chickenshit to try to explain how weight the of the situation, and what was needed was common sense to anyone with half a brain and half a heart. but this is the republican primary crowd we're talking about. Even if he explains his side, or that there were actual humans lives at stake, or that this is how actual leadership works, it's gonna be like "why did you have to hug him so much?"
problem is his "I say what i mean, i mean what i say" image was kind of his only selling point. he's pretty much squandered that.
