My pop's side of the family is so light they can easily pass for white.
My great grandma is the only one I ever lightweight suspected wasn't actually Black. She lived way out in the middle of the country in a little ass out in a BIG ass field and I never recall seeing any pictures of other Black family in the house. But then again, ALL the photos she had were black & white and it's really hard to tell light skin Black folks from white folks in old ass black and white pics....
I dunno... I got one surviving grand parent now... my dad's mom. I'm heading home to NC for the 4th and it's something I REALLY want to ask her about because she's likely the last person alive that knows all the details and can share with me....
Funny how the older you get the more you realize you've lost opportunities to find out who you are...where you come from....
