>Plus he was already trying to do the nostalgia thing 5 years >later with "Still a G Thang" and the "bow wow wow yippee yo >yippee yeah" hook in "Woof". It was looking bad.
Take my anger with a grain of salt. I historically LOATHE any kinds of "sequels" or nostalgic type shit when it comes to art. I have no problems with giving a nod to your past but blatantly trying to relive your past glory drives me insane (I hate all movie sequels with few exceptions, see them as money grabs. Hate HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE when rappers title albums "Marshall Mathers LP 2" and bullshit like that. What a fucking miserable fad that's been. Fucking get creative, you idiots. Hate sequels to songs for the most part. Just make a new fucking song. I almost died when Snoop said he was making Doggystyle 2 back in 2011. Thankfully he retitled it Doggumentary)
Anyway - my point is that when I heard all this nostalgic shit (Still a G Thang (which is a fine song, but still applies), Woof!, etc...then saw the tracklist and saw Gin & Juice II), I was like ... ugh, he's fucking done.
Thankfully that was his one MAJOR misstep but god was it a scary one. Terrible, terrible album with terrible, terrible callbacks to "past" glory (which, like you said, wasn't really the "past" at all...it was 5 fucking years).
