"No celebrity should get a pass for Domestic Violence." Mon May-04-15 10:57 AM by -DJ R-Tistic-
Yet, the Mayweather fight this weekend made me realize once again how people use it against certain celebs, while giving others a pass for it.
One girl I saw on Twitter said she hates Mayweather because he beats women, yet someone called her out for obsessing over Chris Brown the day before. Plenty of folks who mentioned the domestic violence AND the fact that the fight was "boring" would bring up how much they love Tyson, who was of course accused of DV as well.
Hell, some folks who only mention DV for Chris Brown still love James Brown. It goes each and every direction, and it feels like many folks only use it against celebs who they already have an issue with, or either those they were on the fence about. They'll even excuse it for those they love enough..."maybe she gave him herpes!" "Rihanna is crazy, maybe she deserved it!" "Ray Rice's wife spit on him! That's ultimate disrespect!"
How do you all feel about it? Do you always separate the actions from the talent? Do you judge it off being a one time event vs a recurring theme like with Mayweather? Do you only take it to the level where you won't even watch their performance if they're like Milton Bradley or even Ray Carruth?
