Last year we made a day trip to Philly to enjoy the day to max. It was cool, had a nice away day, came back with a standalone Peanuts/Charlie Brown record player.
This year I was on the fence and probably going to sit out. Went way too hard last night (damn liters of beer) https://instagram.com/p/1lxV9LCEa- and just didn't really feel like going out today. But I was going through the internet this morning and saw that a Dilla Record was dropping. A cut of Fuck the Police in the Shape of a badge. Gimmicky? Yes. Necessary? Abso - fucking - lutely.
So I hopped on my bike, sped over to Joe's in Silver Spring and they didn't have much at all. Just one box to thumb through. But in that one box I scored a KMD: Black Bastards ... DOOM https://instagram.com/p/1n2Rh_iEUG
They told me that they don't really participate and to check out Record Exchange next to the Fillmore. It's a small space. Had vinyls as the floor and there were people already going through the small space. https://instagram.com/p/1n3ZMsiEWq
I impatiently waited my turn only to be rebuffed through the initial crate searches. But to my surprise and pure dumb luck, everything I looked for and some things that I wasn't were in a side box.
All in all I'm a happy man. Pockets are a little lighter, but you get money to save and spend. Sometimes you spend. https://instagram.com/p/1n1opCCESd/
