Unless the HBO Now login will work with the HBO Go Roku app, I doubt I'll be able to watch this on my TV, but I guess this is better than nothing. Will be interesting to see how Cablevision will offer this and if other cable providers will offer this as well.

Cablevision to distribute HBO Now streaming service

Roger Yu, USA TODAY 8:33 p.m. EDT March 16, 2015

Cablevision, the cable company that offers broadband Internet and pay-TV packages in the New York City area, said Monday it will offer HBO's new steaming-only service, HBO Now, to its customers in the coming weeks.

In striking the deal with HBO, Cablevision, whose service is marketed under the Optimum brand, said it becomes the first cable company to announce plans to distribute the service. Cablevision didn't disclose the deal's terms or how much it'll charge its customers.

As it introduced HBO Now last week at an Apple event, HBO, a subsidiary of Time Warner, said it will launch the service early next month — in time for the fifth season of Game of Thrones — initially on Apple TV, a device that allows viewers to stream video content directly without a pay-TV service. Priced at $14.99 per month, HBO Now on Apple TV would allow customers to access to all of HBO's content, including the shows that have already aired.

Cable TV customers can currently stream HBO shows through another HBO app called HBO Go — if they subscribe to a TV package that includes the premium channel. But Cablevision would market HBO Now to customers who only subscribe to the Internet.

"We are enabling Optimum Online customers to enjoy content in any way they choose to receive it," Cablevision COO Kristin Dolan said in a statement.
