and at the time to being a funny Brother you had to have the white side kick and pryor felt most of his films were jive however he wanted to cash in for when he toured and the albums he put out.

when Pryor got more film roles IMO the edge of him was gone much like when DR J went from the ABA to the NBA. while still bad and still One of the Greats, not quite the same as that leaper he was and the same with pryor from the mid 70's to sunset blvd era Pryor.

Eddie didn't have to share from the golden child onward.

Pryor did alot of blow indeed and yeah that is true he made trade offs because he was hitting that "Sugar Wind" like it was no business
