"On: American Exceptionalism (OK voting to eliminate AP US History) link"

So these legislators in Oklahoma are trying to get rid of AP US History classes in high school because the course does not present the United States how they would like.
Texas is bringing this up with their Board of Education too (maybe they already have?)

It passed in the committee (all 14 repubs for it, all 4 dems opposed) and should go up for full vote, which it would surely pass.

One of the criticisms of the course is that it diminishes the concept of American Exceptionalism. So what say you?
Do you believe in American Exceptionalism?
Is America (by nature) just fundamentally better than any other country?
I remember Obama catching a lot of flack on the campaign versus McCain for not holding to it wholeheartedly.

Do you think that kids are harmed if they are taught in such a way that poses America in a negative light?

Fisher, who has been active in a church-and-state organization called the Black Robe Regiment, said the AP U.S. history course framework emphasizes “what is bad about America.”

Larry Krieger, a teacher who spoke to the committee via conference call, implied that the AP framework was created by some of the same people responsible for Common Core.

Both said the framework omits the concept of “American exceptionalism.”
