Definitely. And now I'm sad, 'cause Amy was an artist I'd have loved to see/hear go in different directions as her career progressed. And being influenced by jazz and soul, it'd have been cool to hear her explore other sound aesthetics within those genres.
And although her vocal was (obvioulsy) heavily influenced by jazz, she always delivered a purposefully...distorted?...slurred?... vocal style that I think would have married well with a grungier sound.
