"What did they teach you to do in driver's ed?" Wed Jan-21-15 07:10 PM by handle
This is not meant to ask or answer questions around police shootings, it's really is not.
Background. I'm white. I went to high school in the mid to late 80's. I went to high school in Coronado California. It was like 95% white students. Very very white. A very rich school that also had some military brats in it. (I'm not rich.)
None of those things are part of the *law* but I'm curious if people are taught to do those things in school. (And obliviously you don't need to go to school get have a driver's license.)
In our driver's ed program our teacher told us to do these things when being pulled over by the police.
1)Pull over in a safe place. 2)Put hazard lights on when stopped. 3)Roll down all windows. 4)Turn on the interior vehicle lights. 5)Get your registration and wallet out an in your hands before the officer approaches the car. 6)Have you hands visible on the wheel or in your lap. 7)Don't exit the vehicle unless told to do so.
