her thing to do is going to someone's funeral. whether they're relatives, old friends, or whatever. she went to one today.

I've been fortunate in not having anyone close to me pass lately. Last time was 2006. My dad died a few years ago, but we weren't close, so I didn't care.

Today, I did find out that someone that I was cool with at work died last night. Apparently he was playing soccer and collapsed on the field from a heart attack. No history of heart disease. Mid 40s.

Scary! You never know what these bodies are up to. Even when you're active and feel like you're good shape, it still seems like a crap shoot. My cousin is the same as me and has suffered 3 strokes. Of course she has the dynamic duo diabetes and HBP. Definitely worry about her.
