I never thought this before Nas’s record or after Nas’ record. It was a dope record, with good lyricism, but of course the guest emcee should have the more memorable verse. That’s the way it should be and had been before Nas dropped that verse.
That’s how Emcees made a name for themselves. They would drop a dope verse as a guest on a record, then release their first album.
Just imagine if people had that mentality when the “The Scenario” was released, or when EPMD dropped “Hardcore”” which was Redman’s first appearance on the mic.
I actually think Eminem’s verse is somewhat overrated based on how it is viewed.
