I would argue that the only currently active comic I’ve seen who uses silence better is Dave.
I generally skip specials where the run up is based on a deeply personal revelation tho. Like if some famous comedian got divorced and did a whole show around it, I would not be rushing to see it. What I gather from this is Jerrod came out during the special and a lot (or some) of his family didn’t know beforehand? It feels like overhearing something I shouldn’t even be privy to. And if it’s not actually overtly hilarious, it would feel more like a diary entry/work in progress than a special to me.
