The previous probation was less than the one that the judge just issued. He will now have to serve 8 years of probation, so the idea is that more probation will keep him in order?
This is pure corruption and an injustice to society. The purpose of the law is to protect citizens from people who violate the law, not to protect violators of the law.
Governments create laws and it is the responsibility of the court to uphold them. It’s called law and order, and that should not be interfered with by religious sentiments or personal beliefs.
