i didnt know what to expect but i love it. first half kind of reminds me of alabama shakes. not necessarily that its the same style but close enough to fit in nicely on the same playlist. second half is a bit more old school soul. overall i think its great. might like it more than anything that came out in 2020. it did lose a little steam in parts of the last 5 songs or so but no duds.
after one listen its a 5/5 for me. after repeat listens i could see a couple of tracks towards the end bringing it down a bit. well see though.
i think im going to buy the vinyl. i was confused on how someone could have such a polished debut with merchandise as well. looks like hes part of another band, Durand Jones & the Indications. he also made this album with dan auerbach of the black keys.
