"Daycare or nah?" Thu Jul-16-20 06:47 AM by FLUIDJ
Arlington Public Schools flip flopped and back tracked on their plan to open school up with a hybrid model of in-class & remote learning which required parents to choose one or the other....now they're doing a full remote learning program for at least the first 2 months with intentions on phasing kids into the classroom later in the fall.... Cool... we were likely going to opt for the remote learning model anyway...this solidifies it...
Now the daycare for the young one is still closed, but there are rumblings that it'll be allowed to open come fall (it's in DC and has to abide by DC regulations, etc.)... They're saying that WHEN they open they'll LIKELY have a hybrid model of alternating DAYS along with limited number if kids permitted to attend....but we STILL get charged tuition (at a reduced rate finally)....
As much as we'd LOVE to get these kids back into a school environment....along with some tranquility in the house....I just don't know how to play it....
The options are pretty much.... *Turn in the required notice that we're pulling her out of daycare and keeping her home with us (which is not really sustainable from a child development standpoint IMO)
*Keep her enrolled, but keep her home and STILL keep paying tuition with the hopes that come next spring all this shit will be sorted out and this pandemic shit will be done with...
*Go ahead and send her back when/if they open up and hope for the best.
WWYD??
