I'm in job search mode for real, for real this time and I'm dreading the whole process for a number of reasons.
One reason? Distributing my resume and having random people who don't need to be all up in my sh*t, all up in my ish...
For example, I need to update my LinkedIn profile but I don't want all of my connections, including my current manager who will NOT be my reference, to see my DETAILED job history descriptions.
I am about to revamp my personal website but I don't want randoms looking at my portfolio or resume so it will be password protected...
Another practice I'm dreading: hiring managers who distribute the resumes of prospective employees to coworkers who are not involved in the interviewing process.
Also: hiring managers that distribute the resumes of new hires in their "welcome Jane Doe to the team" emails. Ughhh..
I consider my resume to be private. If you aren't in the position to hire me and if you aren't the HR person assigned to my file, stay out of my ish, B!
