He seemed confident something would happen. He didn't tie it at all to the publishing of his wife's book, but he said the new publicity that the case was getting in lots of different forums would eventually jar something loose somewhere.

He explains that too. I don't remember the exact explanation, but it was really convoluted. He added that police later admitted that the failure of the "branding" may have delayed any capture.
