Church so we had a fairly large Mormon student population. I remember a lot of the Mormon girls all had rings or bracelets with the initials CTR so I finally asked them what that meant and was about, they said it was a Mormon thing and it meant Choose The Right. Maybe that was a local (San Diego/southern California) Mormon thing and not national.
Why did you convert to LDS? Were/was your family religious and if so what religion and denomination were they?
Assuming you’re black, what is it like being black and a LDS member? If I recall, LDS had/have a very rough and rocky relationship with African Americans and they weren’t accepted until the 70s or so. Is that true?
How do Mormons feel about non white LDS members? It seems like Mormans like and do well with the Polynesians but I don’t see very many African/Latin/Asian Americans riding them bikes or knocking on my door.
