I booked two months early. A studio apt for a weekend in Hollywood and I went with that room cause the woman in the picture was black and the spot seemed clean.
2 days before my trip she cancelled with the message "Sorry Dustin" and nothing else. I ended getting a last-minute replacement with 2 cats in it that I had to agree to feed as part of the confirmation.
I'd say it's cool if you really just need a place to lay your head, but everything from cleanliness to water pressure to street noise to the damn booking itself is a gamble. Hotels are at least more predictable.
