I'm not sure what point you're making when you said 'I don't routinely have conversations at home about slurs'. Is that to suggest people shouldn't talk about racism? It's not like this is an uncommon topic amongst couples.
It literally happened with us this morning. We both watch and enjoy his show.
Me: Hey did you hear about Bill Maher? Her: I saw something about that....what did he say?
We're mature enough for me to recount what he said without any unwieldy verbal gymnastics....like 'house enn word'. Though that's what I'd use in public. I have a hard time accepting that people would find this problematic. Just to be clear....you are saying that you think this is problematic right?
