hell, if you're flying private, that's a win in itself though. if nothing else, you avoid the hassle of getting through the airport (though TSA-precheck is a kind of a godsend).
but yeah, i don't fly as much as i used to. aside from a trip to cancun last year, i haven't flown int'l in about two years (switzerland for work)... it wasn't so much of a fear of flying as it was a complete wrecking of my body --- i can't sleep on airplanes, so invariably i'm up for like 24 hours staight.
if you think about it, flying is really the only time where you're in *zero* control of life. your fate's in the hands of the guys in the LOCKED DOOR up front.
ironically enough i was became a bit more fearful when pilots were allowed to carry a piece, post 9/11. plus everytime i see a story about an unstable or drunk pilot being escorted off the plane by the cops i just smh.
