56. "I have been watching them on the indie sceen" In response to In response to 48
I know the audiences and the grind they been on. And i commend them for that whole heartedly its not easy to do.
But believe me, i know people who work or are within their camps. I've been knowing about both of them early. BUT that being said, both are mad similar to the artists i mentioned and its exactly how the mainstream audience takes it when we start talking about trying to be in the conversation of the major leagues. It's really not debatable. If you can't hear Drake or Cole in their music you are kidding yourself.
Look at what both Drake and Ye (has been doing for years) they both sign artists who they are gonna take some of their sound and make it theirs. They master it, make it better, make it sound bigger sonically and then execute/sell it way better than that artist could ever do. Ye has done it for years with Cons, Cudi, Mr Hudson, and now Travis Scott. If you can't do it better than the person who the mainstream recognizes as doing it first and they made that person a star from dong it, that hill is sooooo hard to climb.
But by the logic of some people in this thread, if a white guy came a long doing Ye's current sound they think he will be a star because he's white and thats simply ridiculous. It just doesnt work that way.
