i think even given the context they might have overreacted on their position a little bit
i have the benefit of my view being in hindsight though
so there's that. i'm definitely speaking from a place of having seen
several black sitcoms come and go after it.
watching the show today steve urkel's take over of family matters was 100xs worse
than jj ever was tho.
also after watching a documentary on jimmy walker i have more respect for the character
he was a comedian doing comedy and they were reducing it to shucking and jiving
it was a little bit unfair
especially since it was a sitcom(edy)
without him the show would not have been as successful as it was
