the ones who were probably like in middle school or elementary school when she passed
there's like a weird eternal youth thing going on with her and them
and her vocals are very much in the vein of these new "future R&B" folks (SZA, Kelela, Twigs) which is why you see/hear a lot of aaliyah electronic flips as of late. none of them display particularly strong singing (even though they may have the capacity to do so-like Twigs) but the beats bang so folks are loving it but i do miss strong singing.
that's why beyonce was such a killer album b/c she swerved all in their lane w/ stronger vocals.
