(they were exclusively RF-based for the longest, and the controllers were actually attached to the console; making them modular was an improvement IMO)
though they had cool add-ons like the Disk System (and a system of game rentals/sales tied into it). Lot of cool "combo" consoles combining the two.
the Super Famicom had a lot of cool add ons like BS-X and Satellaview. I still think the look of the Super Famicom >>>>>>>> SNES. In the UK and elsewhere in Europe their SNES was the same look as the Super Famicom but PAL-based of course
