From July 15th-17th, Pitchfork Music Festival will be co-headlined by The Roots, with spots from Tierra Whack, Earl Sweatshirt and more.
A Chicago takeover is brewing. Held at Union Park from Friday, July 15 through Sunday, July 17, the sixteenth iteration of Pitchfork Music Festival will return with a headlining appearance from The Roots. The group is set to perform on Sunday, with Toro Y Moi, Earl Sweatshirt, Tierra Whack, Noname, BADBADNOTGOOD, KAINA and Pink Siifu having separate appearances.


Three day passes are $200 while single-day passes are $99. The festival will also have a Pitchfork PLUS upgrade, including a range of exclusive amenities, is $399 for a three-day pass and $199 for a single-day pass. With “PLUS” admission, guests will have access to “exclusive amenities” including cellphone charging and air-conditioned bathrooms.


Pushed to last September for COVID reasons, the 2021 version of the festival featured Erykah Badu, Jay Electronica, Danny Brown, Thundercat, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Flying Lotus and more.


Along with performing, Questlove and Black Thought of The Roots are currently in their television and film bag. The two are set to executive-produce upcoming eight-episode animated Disney series Rise Up, Sing Out and A&E docuseries James Brown: Say It Loud. Directed by Questlove, Summer of Soul has received an Oscar nomination for Best Documentary Film at the 94th Academy Awards. Broadcasting live on ABC, the Oscars ceremony will be held Sunday, March 27th at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT.

Tickets for Pitchfork Music Festival go on sale Friday, March 11th at 10 AM CT on the festival website.
