"Question about form"

My question is, do most emcees want to hear a track that already has some sort of form to it? Like a hook section and a verse section. Or do they want to just hear all the different ways that you can flip something?

Personally, when I put together a beat, I don't feel I'm communicating my ideas fully unless I organize it into a formal structure of some sort. And I'm not talking about a standardized form, just some sort of structure that can be detected when listening to the track.

So, emcees, what do you prefer?

And, producers, how do you approach this when sending tracks to an emcee for the first time?
