midi out mpc to midi in microkorg
mout out microkorg to midi in mpc

this is the "midi handshake"

find the sound ya want on the microkorg

new track on the mpc, change drum to midi, and program to off (this would be different if your keyboard was multitimberal, but i dont think the microkorg is)

then hit record on the mpc

play ya melody with either the keys or with the pads
