for your basic 4-8 bar hooks at least

but it goes without sayin for an unorthodox hook you might want to experiment or just leave it dry i.e. blackstars 'respiration'

most commercial jams have 4-6 tracks of heavy panning on the hooks

but theres a million things you can do...some rappers in here should chime in
