It seems like Paul Haggis has cracked Oscar's code: pick a socially relevant topic, say pretty much nothing about it, but appear to say something grand and profound, and boom! Instant Oscar! He did it with assisted suicide last year and "woah. Racism happens. And it's like, bad!" this year. So what is Paul Haggis going to insult our intelligence with to win the Academy's respect in 2007?
