Hello. I'm doing just fine, thanks for asking. Glad you're fine, too.
The only Iranian film that played this year is The Lizard. I wasn't able to see it because it conflicted with the Zana Briski/Born into Brothels thingie last night. I would very much like to see it, so hopefully it will come back later this year. You probably know all about it, but just in case:
The Lizard -- (Iran/2004) DIRECTOR: Kamal Tabrizi. Kamal Tabrizi’s irreverent comedy broke box-office records in Tehran before authorities, offended by the affable sacrilege that makes the film so delightful, banned it from theaters. THE LIZARD tells the story of a thief who escapes prison by posing as a cleric and, once out, performs outrageous actions.
So there ya go. It's really all about the Scandinavian and Argentinian films at this year's SIFF.
Regarding your critique of my Scrobbler lists: I consider myself to have quite disparate taste in music, however, traditional American folk music is not something I've made an effort to get into. Perhaps you'd like to inbox me with a few suggestions to get started?
Looking forward to you posting *your* Scrobbler link so I can tell you what you're missing...
