this is a topic very close to me, as my grandfather lost eight brothers and sisters in the holocaust. he met my grandmother in the beginning of the war and they got married quickly and ran off to siberia in russia by the early forties. he was the only one of his family to survive. they had my uncle a year later or so, and then moved to montreal to start fresh. my granparents are jewish but have always had some questions about the almighty after the holocaust. this is because they could not understand how all bad things happen for a reason when it came to this. they questioned how god could allow such a tragedy to occur. unfortunately, my grandfather passed away in june at the age of ninety-four, amazingly just to old age, not cancer, as most people you hear are dying from these days.
it is important, rather, its is imparitive that we never froget what happened in europe and all over the world at that time. it proves once again how deeply ignorance is a factor still in this day in age. it happened with slavery, and with the holocaust, and both were caused by human ignorance, not by outbreaks of diseases. its also important to remember thatnot only did 6 million jews die, but another five million sivillians of other races and colours died, and another twenty million souldiers died. simply disgusting.
peace, dgonsh
