If they hear from adult males in authority that fake breasts are not as attractive I think it would have some influence. If teenage boys see augmented breasts they'll get an erection, if they see regular ol' breasts they get an erection. But let it get out that natural breasts are in and you'll see both men and women change their mindsets. Of course, it goes deeper than breasts. The whole message that women are props or toys helps to perpetuate the illusion that fake is better.

I don't think repression of any kind is a good thing. Being taught how to make responsible and healthy choices is better. I used to cut up my dolls because I wanted to be a doctor but perhaps I was rebelling in my own little girl way. Eventually, my mother stopped buying me dolls and started buying me books, chemistry sets, art supplies, etc. She was very open with me about sex and I got a chance to explore sex (without having it) at an early age.
