Senators just can't make it as a nominee any more. Spotty Senate records & attendance usually do them in. The last Senator elected President was Kennedy (I think).
I'm hoping for Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico with Obama as his VP selection. Let's see how a "shade of brown & hue of ebony" ticket can do in America.
Richardson was one of the most respected members of Clinton's cabinet as Energy Secretary. The people of New Mexico have elected him into office two separate times. He has turned New Mexico around with his progressive minded policies. He believes in funding for renewable energy tecnologies, presevation of open spaces in the West, has a great stance on Health Care.
