I do all of thee above. Also as a graduate student in env. policy and natural resource management, I can tell you there are a lot of laws and regulations out to control the industry...ie.

Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RECRA and a lot of other progams that drop emmission levels etc. However, as some of you might know a lot of the enforcement and policies are political driven. Nevertheless, there are a lot of compliancy rules and regulations that companies and different industries have to abide by.
