the general principle of making something together is always cool--the younger can learn from the older and vice versa...make an in-camera edited video, tell a story using photos taken with a polaroid camera, learn to make a website...
Here in Boston we have things like the Black Heritage Trail which is fun and informative, as well as various museums...etc.
When i was younger my favorite thing to do was to go to the library (yah i was a nerdy bookworm, so what?! that's why i graduated summa cum laude! ) or to do any kind of art--drawing, printmaking, batik, painting, sewing, graffiti...
