i never experienced this when i was in school because....well....i lived in the wildnerness and there was no where else for us to go.
but...i am not so sure that i would want my child to have to get up early, go to school across town or wherever, for the sake of adding a few black kids to the roster.
until the neighborhoods desegregate, the schools won't. the neighborhoods won't desegregate unless more minorites obtain higher paying jobs the schools won't get better unless the property taxes that pay for them increase. the property values won't increase unless the people owning the property start making a little more money
so...isn't busing the band-aid on the gunshot wound?
