The idea of government is that it has the unbridled power to enforce ideals and standards within the borders of a nation. In order to recieve that power, you must gain the resources necessary. Since the whole concept of being "rich" is that you have possession or access to more resources than a significant majority of the people it's only common sense that a country is going to be led by the most resourceful and powerful. There will always be rich and there will always be poor; the question is whether you allow ones within government to be rich, as its doubtful any national government official in the world is going hungry, or are you going to allow opportunities that will enhance wealth among the citizenry of that said nation. The choice is yours.
